Boat trip & city walk through the Jordaan<\/h5>\n

From September 1, Rederij Mokum will offer the Jordaan Tour<\/strong>, an original new package where you will discover the Jordaan by sailing and walking. Under the guidance of Guide Tijs you will explore both the Southern and Northern Jordan. You will become acquainted with the history of the neighborhood and its residents.<\/p>\n

The Jordaan is an old working-class neighborhood bordered by the Brouwers, Prinsen, Lijnbaans and Leidse canals. No neighborhood is as much praised as the Jordaan. The skippers of Rederij Mokum are very welcome there.<\/p>\n

During the Jordaan tour we sail along the foot of the Oude Wester. Along the way we pass the famous Elandsgracht, the cradle of Johnny Jordaan, Tante Leen and Manke Nelis. You will visit an authentic courtyard where time seems to have stood still.<\/p>\n

How does the Jordaan tour work<\/h2>\n

Start Jordaan tour<\/strong>
You will be welcomed on board with a picketanissie (Pikketanussie is Amsterdam dialect for a drink of grain jenever)<\/p>\n

2 hour boat trip<\/strong>
We cast off and sail straight onto the Amsterdam canals. You will complete the first part of the tour by sailing. Our ships have been transformed into an old brown caf\u00e9. On board original Mokum snacks, Amsterdam life songs and 3 drinks per person.<\/p>\n

You can see most of the Jordaan from the boat while your knowledge about this neighborhood is updated by guide Tijs.<\/p>\n

2-hour city walk<\/strong>
On the edge of the Jordaan you will disembark with Tijs to view the famous courtyards, the Carthusian cemetery and the reclaimed Palm Canal. You walk past the caf\u00e9 where Freddy Heineken’s kidnapper worked out their plan….<\/p>\n

During the walking tour you will also visit a real Jordanian caf\u00e9 for a drink or a cup of coffee.<\/p>\n

Tijs also tells you about the Jordaan today. How new residents find their home there and how the Jordaan is still a special part of Amsterdam, with crazy shops, art galleries and street art.<\/p>\n
